Coat the liver thoroughly in the flour mixture. I always keep them warm in the oven, set on it's lowest heat, until all the liver is cooked. When all done, reheat the onions in remaining butter. Add a teaspoon of bacon fat.

  1. Mix flour garlic pepper and Mrs dash in a bowl
  2. Place bacon in skillet i use cast iron
  3. Coat liver evenly with flour mixture
  4. Place liver on top of bacon
  5. Fry for 5 to 8 minutes on medium heat
  6. Turn liver over and add onion
  7. Simmer for 5 to 8 minutes more
  8. Add cream of mushroom soup and milk
  9. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes or longer with cover

Sauté the onions until translucent, a couple of minutes. Checking on onions occ. turning them over while just moving the liver out of the way and back on top… when onions are done…. remove from pan to a plate or bowl along with the liver…. Make what my mom would call "grease gravy" from the remaining oil and drippings… then return the onions to the gravy and serve over mashed potatoes or. Slice the onions and liver first before dredging the liver in seasoned flour. Then cook the liver, onions, and broth until the onions are tender and a rich gravy forms.
